What's In The Garden
Details of what I've planted
Late Blooming Anemone, corronaria St. Brigid

Planted: Fall 2003
Flowers: April-May
Height: 10"
Bulb Size: 5/6 cm

Plant: September through December
Where: Sunny or partially shaded location. Partial shade will ensure a longer flowering period.
How: Soak bulbs in water for 24 hours before planting. Cultivate soil to a depth of 12" mixing in some well-cured compost. Plant the bulb with the pointed side up and the top 4" below the soil level, 2"-4" apart.
Care: Water well if soil is dry and keep moist during periods of dry weather. Add balanced fertilizer like bulb booster at planting time and after the flowering period in spring. The last application is to feed the bulb when it is collecting nutrients for next year's growth. Protect from slugs and snails. Keep weed free. In cold winter climates mulch heavily to protect from severe frost.
After flowering: Allow the foliage to die back naturally before cutting. The bulbs will flower year after year.
